Driving on the freeway at midnight in constant rainfall for one hour, no traffic, and Vaporwave Synthwave mix playing is one of THE best relaxing times of my life. I wish it rained more often here in California.
I've realized I'm staring at this video for the last 20 minute. I'm fascinated by it, I feel nostalgic, like this place is where I belong and where I have lived in the past, but now I'm lost in some place I don't fit and I have no idea how did I get here. I miss this place. I miss that night. I don't know how, but I just miss it.
It's called longing, and most of us feel it from time to time. I feel it when I see spaceships, because that's where I really want to be. The freedom of pioneering among the stars, of not being trapped on Earth by people too timid to let go of the past and doing everything they can to prevent the future. I want to be free of all that, the wallowing with what came before, the denial of wisdom from the hardship we went through so the guilty can now be innocent and tyranny can be seen as Progress. Just let me fly among the stars and be done with the mundanity of short-sighted minds that still think the 1400s were the best time in human history. There's an entire universe to see, and my only regret is that I will die before it ever happens. I was born too soon.
I'm obsessed with this playlist. Literally gives me chills when I listen to it. I've never had music like this connect to me on such a level. Thank you for this. I feel at peace with life.
I remember listening to this playlist when first covid lockdown happened. I was still in college doing my assignments on these songs. Now I’m at university and listening to this beautiful playlist thinking of how easy life was before becoming an adult.
I'm 28 and I wonder where the time went. It's wild bro, hang in there. Stop to look at the scenery sometimes because it's so easy to get lost in the sauce. I wish I could go back to college, I wish I could have my teen years back. lol.
I love synth wave! This is where we come to break free from the matrix. Where we belong, where we keep our future visions high, and the past memories as lessons. Where we come to dream as the eternal spirits we all are. We all know there’s something bigger and better out there. And we are very grateful to be part of the few aware of it. 😊😌
I haven’t honestly felt this stress free in a long time, this one of the best synth mixes I’ve listened to. Sometimes you just need to stop and breathe. Thank you, for this mix.
It reminds me of when I lived in seattle Id stay up all night on fridays to go driving at 1 or 2 in the morning running a loop along the 90 405 5 freeways driving in circles pushing my car to the limits when there was no traffic for no other reason to go fast just to feel alive. Looking at the lights in downtown as I drove by. Stopping at the same gas station to get monsters to drink so I didnt fall asleep at the wheel. Sitting in the parking lot by alkai staring at the skyline. Contemplating life. With a phone full of text messages I sent that never got replies and calls that all got sent to voicemail. Always alone. I always did these highway "runs" by myself and the funny part is I was alone but I loved it. I miss driving in circles with no destination just going and only stopping when I got to tired to keep my eyes open. There was no greater feeling than redlining 3rd gear as you come flying down the on ramp to the freeway with the window down and there would be this moment where everything would be so loud around me the sound of the car moving along the pavement the exhaust note screaming right before you hit the rev limiter the wind blowing and just for a second with all this noise everything in my mind went silent and anything I was thinking about was gone and I just stared out as I drove past and saw the sea of lights that made up the city and it was fucking beautiful...
This music connects me to a moment in 2005. I lived in Tampa, Florida at the time. Tampa is located on a peninsula in the middle of a large bay. There are very long bridges spanning across the water connecting to St. Petersburg. I remember, I was driving at night in late February across one of the longer bridges. My windows were down and my sunroof was open. The air was humid but mild almost cool. It swirled through the cabin in constant but gentle gusts. All around me the water was pitch black, with only the occasional buoy or boat light giving the impression of distant stars in the inky darkness. The nothingness stretched in every direction for miles. In front, off in the distance, I could see the lights of the buildings downtown. Behind me I could see the muted glow of the St. Pete suburbs. There were few, if any, other cars on the road with me. But regardless, I felt completely alone. Not lonely, or abandoned, or neglected, but present in the moment with only myself. To say I felt content is an oversimplification. It was fulfillment in idleness, but a yearning for activity. Excitement in existence, yet acceptance of mortality. I no longer remember where I had been that night, or even returning home. I only remember the moment. This music does not remind me of that moment, I could not tell you what if anything I had playing on radio that night. This music returns me to that moment, sailing through the night.
I'd really love to just go out for a drive in the middle of the night just for the hell of it. There's something freeing about feeling the air rush past you, knowing that there's nothing but the open road ahead of you. There are always people awake deep in the night, but we're all isolated from each other, in our own cars or our own homes. We are aware of each other, even if we can't see each other... and there's a sense of quiet camaraderie in that.
I once had a very very strong fever, one song got stuck in my mind after that, it's called Paradise, im not sure who is the author but it is also retrowave
I love when i'm on the edge of my window, watching the city in the night, drinking a cool energy drink, my neon headset on the neck, the retrowave vibes flowing in my ear, and chilling like that for hour... Everytime, i feel so lonely, but incredibly good.

It's a restless feeling, isn't it? Like we've discovered everything there is to discover here, and we long to explore yet society has us restrained. We have the illusion of freedom, yet are enslaved by a myriad of laws that keep freedom at bay. You want the galaxy, my friend, another world or a new star. It's where we need to be. To have the same freedom again as our ancestors did, only that will cure the feeling we have.
Can't we all just get together and make this future happen already? I'm tired of the older generations dragging their feet. We should be living on Mars by now...
@@TheBeardedFrogSage holy shit wtf, this really makes me speechless, its true that i want a galaxy, a whole new world, a whole new life but i want it all just like in my expectations, i dont like reality but i hope i can make my expectations to become a dreamed reality...

Its like it all ended so quickly and i never appreciated living in the moment. You live your life out, marry someone, have kids, make something of yourself, cause if you don't, all of life will feel like school did. Gone in the blink of an eye.
There is a Japanese term: 'Mono no aware'. It means basically, the sad beauty of seeing time pass - the aching awareness of impermanence. What makes this one of the best mixes I’ve heard on here is how it manages to keep a consistent vibe and atmosphere. Never gets too slow, too fast or repetitive. Great job 💕

It was in it's infancy then but what Marty said is accurate, the wiki on Synthwave goes into more detail and is an interesting read. I think it's also reasonable to say this genre was influenced at least somewhat by Ambient music dating back to the 60's-70's.
my girl and i were the ones on our balcony overlooking denver. she has passed.. now i am alone with this beautiful soundscape. without my queen. i can hear her voice echoing with this anthem. thanks for the memories.
Someday I want to drive on an almost endless highway into the sunset with bright pretty cities around whilst blasting this music in the car. The street lights moving past me in rhythm with the song.
And this is the good way to put in ads! They knew that most people would either fall asleep before them or love the music so much they will stay anyway. Thank you so much!
This video was my first exposure to a chillwave-synthwave mix. I've listened to dozens of mixes since by many RUclips channels. This is still one of the best out there! Thank you for broadening my music world, which for last year has consisted mostly of this genre.
I love how there’s never any negativity or anyone going back and forth between disrespectful with each other. Love the vibes in synthwave comment sections. Everyone is responding to each other like we’ve been friends for years but never knowing the person at all. It’s dope…Much love to all y’all. Peace&Love to everyone 🫡👊
I went to school in the 80’s. It was as amazing as this music is for the imagination. A wonderful time that has not been matched. People of all types loved sharing good times together. What happened? I’m still hoping the youth can find that type of vibe once again and run with it like wild horses...free yo mind :)
Glad we can comment here. People say "dont feel alone, we're all here together" which is easy so say, but when you're staring at a screen with nothing but organized pixels its hard to feel. At least there are comments actually here vs being disabled... that always makes a video so much weirder. We're already in a state of such disassociation.. taking away interaction sucks. Im glad for each and every comment, even the shitty ones. They just amplify the good comments. Glad that we can have many differences in opinions but still find unity here. Glad that you share the music, and glad that everyone puts little words underneath to read. Cheers! I guess your mix is doing well because I dont usually go out on long thoughtful comments haha!
Always find myself coming back here. After 5 years. It just does something when I’m in that mood at night. Lying in bed awake. Street light coming through the cracks in the blinds, blue shadows on the bedroom walls.
This mix was the first one I ever listened to. It was the gateway to so many others, and allowed me to find so much awesomely chill music. It'll always have a place in my playlist for times when I want to forget the world for a little while.

I cannot tell how times I've just let that initial breeze bay tune hit...sat back...sipped on my single malt and embraced the odd nostalgia of the future.
What else can do this to a man?!?
This mix has pulled me through so many times during most of my teen years. It will always be one of my fav all time chill mixes to vibe too. Thanks asthenic for posting this and to everyone who has given it support over the years. Peace and much love everyone ✌
What took us so long to realize how wonderful being alive is? It feels so good to use our own imagination to see anything we want in life
Imagination is more important knowledge.
I listen to this everyday as I write my second cyberpunk fantasy novel.
See you in year 2077 :/
Just googled it and found it! I'm gonna get it!
wow!
Nice, I should listen to this while i am making a side-scroller with a Ratchet & Clank vibe to it.
Good luck! Who here can't wait for Cyberpunk 2077? LOL.
This playlist brings me joy. I remember telling my fiancé about it last year and now my wife loves it so much. ❤
There is this pocket of a few million of us who are longing for something greater but cant seem to find it.
It is right there with you ( pure self ) but without you (ego) ❤ dont search outside 🙏
@@TheBeardedFrogSage Agreed.
Can't sleep it's 1 am and this pops up in my recommended. Damn I love the internet.
It's beautiful, perfect for thinking, motivation or nostalgic feelings.
it's usually 4 am when I start to panic about not sleeping. 1 am is too early, man.
Nothing like sitting down in your chair with a glass of literally anything and jamming to some synthwave
doing that riiight now :)

"Literally anything"... Cyanide here. Also, you should stop saying literally. Semantic satiation is making the word meaningless--not to mention illiterate use.
This animation and playlist is absolute top tier. I come here several times a month, every year.
Same, been coming here since 2019, always a mood ✨😌
Sitting in my car at night on the Autobahn - these vibes feels like heaven - I wish I could drive forever...
This Playlist has meant so much to me for so many years now. This is golden curation
After listening to nearly every single synth mix I can find on YT for the past 5 years or so, I can safely say that this mix is the absolute king. No other mix compares to the energy and relaxation this one gives off.
Had this playlist on as my friends and I enjoyed the sunset and drank beers, thanks for this...
So glad I found this again. Haven't listened to this mix in like 5 years
I've grown a love for this genre from the intense but comforting nostalgia the tunes evoke. So good.
This is one of the greatest mixes I've found in all my years of RUclips. Thank you.
Agreed!
Still one of the best mixes, 6 years later. I keep coming back to this one.
comming back to this mix after years.. still one of my favorites 🙏
Synthwave. A style of music that somehow makes you feel nostalgic for the future.
Your playlist genuinely evokes nostalgic memories from days gone by. 🎵💖
This mix was my intro to synth wave and I keep coming back whenever I need grounding.
“Hey dude, why is that ship going in circles for almost an hour?”
“Idk man, why are we standing in this balcony for almost an hour?”
I'm just waiting for the taco truck to arrive...
Lol!
"Truck"? Yeah, Charlotte you're gonna be waiting NEGATIVE years for that...
hey dude why you are you watching the ship go in circles for almost an hour?
are we in a simulation?
''DUDE...you need to stop your family's worried...''
This is the only playlist that stays open on my chrome, 24/7, walking me through ....both nostalgic and futuristic paths....life is a mystery. a beautiful one.
Have you guys ever thought about how fast life passes by? One moment I'm in elementary school sitting in time out, now I'm graduated, 20 years old, everyone around my age who i used to see as "the big kids" are here but I'm now one of them... Its like it all ended so quickly and i never appreciated living in the moment. You live your life out, marry someone, have kids, make something of yourself, cause if you don't, all of life will feel like school did. Gone in the blink of an eye.
Have kids is not a must, marry isnt it too, so its posible to live happy.
There is a Japanese term: 'Mono no aware'. It means basically, the sad beauty of seeing time pass - the aching awareness of impermanence. These are the days we will return to in the future, only in memories. How do we capture them? How could we possibly be able to fully appreciate them in the present?
Yup it goes quicker as you get older the word of God says all men are like grass that wiltith in the sun. Life goes on past death dear friend shall I show you the evidence find me at face book David vanscyoc pic of a dog profile pic be blessed

This music plays in my own little space of sunkissed paradise within my head, where time stops so you can view the beauty around you.
Some one commented earlier and I want to reiterate. It's true synthwave peeps are very chill and positive. Great music to share with great people.
Beautiful mix. As an alt rock and metal person, I must say, my impression of DnB music has changed for the better with chillstep, chill-wave and the likes.
Maybe one day we’ll all live the lives we deserve.
you just gained that scene in an anime while they're gazing to the night sky upon a sad city...
One of the best mixes I've heard - keeps a coherent atmosphere the whole time through. Good stuff!
no it doesnt... but there are some good bits in there
What makes this one of the best mixes I’ve heard on here is how it manages to keep a consistent vibe and atmosphere. Never gets too slow, too fast or repetitive. Great job 💕
Every so often I come back to this mix, on special nights when I have a little time to myself - sometimes just before bed to settle down, sometimes on troubled nights I need to take some space, sometimes a late shift on the job. But every time is precious to me in some way, thanks to this playlist.
Man, I hope we get to this point in the future and most music is retrowave, synthwave, etc. I also hope there will be alot if neon lights.
Hey Derek, there will be lots of neon lights
Past is the foundation of future

It's a shame i won't be able to interact with alien cultures from distant planets nor travel the milky way while rocking this mix on a cool spaceship... :/
Time for some videogames lol

i always come back to this one
i've been listening to electric/chillwave/melodlic/synthwave music all my life...strange how youtube comments tend to be peaceful & full of good vibes....where people can drop there guard & be real......you can just go anywhere else on youtube & look at the constant argumentative negative vibes & i know why i LOVE this genre & the type of people who love it too. My type of people who stare at the stars & chat round campfires..
My friend, your mix reaches me here in South Africa. I guarantee you, anyone who smokes cannabis and listens to this.... *Breathes in* Beautiful..
Fuck you. Jesus. Drugs are bad for you dumbass

i wish i could describe to you the transcendence this song made me go through on a magical mushroom journey. i hope everyone is especially happy and feeling great.
The irony being that nobody actually listened to music like this in the 80s.
temporaryscars No, it was only background or theme music on TV and in movies.
It was in it's infancy then but what Marty said is accurate, the wiki on Synthwave goes into more detail and is an interesting read. I think it's also reasonable to say this genre was influenced at least somewhat by Ambient music dating back to the 60's-70's.
Yes we did. Just check any Kenny Loggins or Giorgio Moroder soundtrack.
2017 was one magical year for me and it is by far one of the greatest years I have ever lived in my life.
Synthwave is calmingly positive.
Randomly looked up "Night Synth" and got this playlist on a nightly drive back home. It was a beautiful drive, thank you!

my girl and i were the ones on our balcony overlooking denver. she has passed.. now i am alone with this beautiful soundscape. without my queen. i can hear her voice echoing with this anthem. thanks for the memories.
No matter how many times this mix gets deleted, someone always pulls through and manages to re-upload it 😏
Someday I want to drive on an almost endless highway into the sunset with bright pretty cities around whilst blasting this music in the car. The street lights moving past me in rhythm with the song.
am just about to get my own car soon, it'll probably be an older corolla, see you on the other side of the sunset.
And this is the good way to put in ads! They knew that most people would either fall asleep before them or love the music so much they will stay anyway. Thank you so much!
Been listening to this one when I try to fall asleep, so relaxing, and nostalgic. Somehow, i just keep listening ;)

I NEED to find more music like L.D.C.N - Looking Back Once More .
It is PERFECT to fall asleep to and it keeps you asleep!!!!
This video was my first exposure to a chillwave-synthwave mix. I've listened to dozens of mixes since by many RUclips channels. This is still one of the best out there! Thank you for broadening my music world, which for last year has consisted mostly of this genre.
I've been binging on Chillwave mixes like this and of all of them, this has to be the best. So atmospheric and rich. Thanks for creating it.
This takes me back to a simpler time

I think this my favorite playlist ever. I listen to it constantly over the last year or so. Thank you for making it.
It's a great playlist
Tbh HOME - Intro is the best demonstration of how to make a melody that kind of stays in your mind
I went to school in the 80’s. It was as amazing as this music is for the imagination. A wonderful time that has not been matched. People of all types loved sharing good times together. What happened? I’m still hoping the youth can find that type of vibe once again and run with it like wild horses...free yo mind :)
I'm currently in it but, I think I lost it
Glad we can comment here. Cheers! I guess your mix is doing well because I dont usually go out on long thoughtful comments haha!
thanks bro
during corona...
Always find myself coming back here. After 5 years. It just does something when I’m in that mood at night. Lying in bed awake. Street light coming through the cracks in the blinds, blue shadows on the bedroom walls.
This makes me want to just play it all day but have a different experience every time I play it for at least 5 weeks
Your cool tunes got me through many long nights in the hospital last year. Thank you for sharing this music with the world
This mix was the first one I ever listened to. It was the gateway to so many others, and allowed me to find so much awesomely chill music. It'll always have a place in my playlist for times when I want to forget the world for a little while.
